Cleaning can be a difficult task.
Especially if you have hoarding tendancies like I do.
So, here’s a quick tip for you – if you have hoarding tendancies and you’re trying to clear a room:
Write a list of the things you want to keep, that you know are in the room. Be specific.
Don’t say “newspapers”, choose a date range maybe.
The reason I’m saying this is: it holds you accountable.
If you haven’t used something in so long that you’ve forgotten you own it… You don’t need it. And if you can’t list it off the top of your head, get rid of it.
With the exception of big things – like video game consoles, TVs, and computers.
I just did this myself, and I’ve successfully binned around 1/2 of my belongings – at least. All things I no longer needed or wanted.
I’m hoping this helps me curb my hoarding in future, so we’ll see.
So, wrote a list and stick to it.
Don’t think “well it could be useful” because if it hasn’t been for the past 6 to 12 months, it won’t be useful anytime soon.

Support My Content
I’m a firm believer in free content – specifically when it comes to news. Everyone should have the ability to educate themselves without putting themselves in debt. That’s why my content on current events, experiences, and advocacy is free!
Though, hosting a website and producing content regularly costs time and money. So, if you like my work and want to support me, consider tipping me! You can pick a price; even £1 can help! This isn’t a reoccurring tip – this is a one-time-only cost!
