When I Came Out – Poem

persons hands with rainbow colors

When I came out to my mother,
She thought it was crude.
When I came out to my father,
He was in a jolly good mood.
When I came out to my sister,
She thought me a dude.
When I came out to my brother,
We had quite the feud.
When I came out to my auntie,
She thought I was screwed.
When I came out to my uncle,
He called me a prude.
But in all certainty,
I am hoping to elude.
With the greatest of respect,
I think they were quite rude.
